I STILL GOT IT !

The technique of making a pie that is, you either have it or you don't.
Rolling out a good pie crust is not something you can teach in words,
you have to be shown in person and some days they come out better than others.
Today I made an honest to goodness home made apple pie from scratch,
getting flour all over the place in the process. It always seems that
even when I try to put everything I'll need out before hand,
I always need something in the drawer or the refrigerator
or the pantry with flour on my hands.
I learned how to make the pie crust from my Grand Mother who
was a wizz when it came to rolling out a piece of pie dough.
She would make enough for six pies at a time and freeze them for future pies.
Well she must have been looking over my shoulder today because
this pie came out as good as it could have, I hope it tastes as good as it looks.
Gramma taught me a lot about cooking stuff and I learned at an early age
the benifits of this knowledge and consider it one of my strong suits.
I dislike the job of cleaning the mess that the flour makes all over every thing,
because of this I wash my hands about a hundred times making the dough.
Oh and when I get to the part of putting the top crust on the pie,
I still hear my Mom telling me to "Dot the top of the apples with butter".
