I forgot what I was going to bloviate about but I'm sure it was pithy and wise.
This is the story of a young boy named Leaf and his dog named Bud but thought he was a bear. They lived in a house that was just this side of where the old train depot used to be, in the town of Collieville Connecticut. The town was named Collieville because of the large number of Collie dogs that were in the area. There even was a big ol sign that read "Welcome to Collieville""You Are Here!""Beware of Dog Hair!".
Getting back to that ol train station, trains would go by all the time in both directions at once it seemed. Til one day there was a two train head on collision pile up. Many where killed on that day. Some say that even today if you stay still and listen quietly without even breathing, you can still here a train go by every now and then.
The thought of deviating from the reality of his life of course had never occurred to Leaf. All he wanted to do is fish for brook trout in the stream behind the house and play with his dog Bud. Then one day he was standing right close to where the ol tracks were and thought he heard a train getting louder and closer by the minute until the sky got all bright, with the deafening noise of a train whistle ringing in his head.A second seemed like a minute it lasted for so long. Then all was quite, all was calm. Looking back and forth Leaf noticed that everything was different now.
There were less buildings around town and all the trees were way smaller than they should be. The church had a bell tower instead of a steeple. And the gas station had these funny looking gas pumps that you had to crank by hand. He saw one of those old style cigarette machines next to that was a door with a sign that read "Do Not Enter To Late !" Leaf thought to himself what does that mean? Don't enter late? Should he open the door would he be to early or late?
Turning to wrestle his fishing pole away from the powerful yet playful jaws of his dog Bud. Walked the short distance back to the stream behind the house. That's where they ended up, Leaf sitting on the ground next to an oak tree with his dog Bud that thought he was a bear.
