I saw the news report today on the t.v.
Another soldier died in the line of duty
I wish someone could explain it to me
It all just seems blackened and dirty
Listen to the Iraqi people crying
Hoping for the day they'll be free
I don’t have to tell you they're dieing
Just wake up, take a look, what do you see?
And thousands of yellow ribbons tied
Around thousands of old oak trees
Thousands of Mothers have cried
Trying to cope with what will be
Another year or so we'll be out of there
And so we can turn around the bend
And in a year if all else is clear
To see the day this war will end.
A Watery war awaits our future
This great country of the U.S.A.
We have cold clean water
Others will need it in a bad way.
