Runs all day, but never walks, Often murmurs, but never talks,
It has a bed, but never sleeps, It has a mouth but never eats.
There are 33 towns in the Farmington River Watershed covering 609 square miles of land. Winding it's way from Otis Massachusetts to the Connecticut river in Windsor Connecticut. Going fishing in the river is a peaceful easy feeling. Having gone there over the years, you know I don't remember ever catching one fish. Strangely I did somehow manage to catch a fresh water clam once. Most times I would reach for my camera rather my fishing pole. One day when I was about sixteen years old I went to the river a day after a hurricane past through our state. The river was very high and moving very fast. Having to trek over two miles along the river banks to get to just the right spot to take one of the best photograghs I ever took. Capturing the high waters passing over the dam of an old grist mill. I liked the photo so much I had a print enlarged and even made a kitchen clock with it. It still hangs on the wall reminding me of that very special day so many years ago.
