This morning a flock of geese flew by,
I heard them and let out a sigh.
Another year has come and gone,
the seasons just don't last that long.
It's fair to say there's a chill in the air.
It's time once again for country fairs.
From jumping frog competitions,
to the best hog calling traditions.
Blue ribbon apple and berry pies,
The foods, and everything deep fried.
with corn dogs, candy canes and bars,
potatoes, funnel cakes and pickle jars.
Soon leaves on the trees will be red,
with orange, yellow and brown.
It's almost the time to be said,
Blankets of snow on the ground.
