Some people prefer not to keep their bird feeders full
in the spring and summer when there is abundant food.
I still find many birds at my window bird feeder.
Today a flock of Rose Breasted Grosbeaks appeared.
During migration in the spring, a bird feeder might be
a very welcome source of food for a birds that have
already come a long way from their wintering grounds,
and have a long way to go before reaching breeding grounds.
In the summer, even though there's a lot of food available,
their energy requirements are high while feeding their young.
This is the time of year the bluebirds appear around here and
I'm hoping the new bluebird house attracts them to stay again.
