Always being interested in HAM Radio I was
pleased to find that using my brothers radio
frequency scanner I found a local HAM repeater.
@ 147.315 mhz broadcasting out of Connecticut.
Many years ago I'd listen to the 2 meter band,
where a bunch of guys commuting to work would
inform others of the bad driving conditions.
Moving into the wooden sticks of Harwinton, Ct.
and into the twilight zone of radio traffic.
I found it discomforting at best in the loss of
HAM radio signals I was able to bring in.
This is good stuff to listen to, better than AM radio.
The AARL'S moto is to promote and advance the art,
science and enjoyment of Amateur Radio.
Founded in 1914 by Hiram Percy Maxim, ARRL
is the national association for Amateur Radio.
Today, with more than 161,000 members, ARRL
is the worlds largest organization of radio amateurs.
with a mission that is based on five pillars:
Service, Advocacy, Education, Technology, and Membership.
Then there's always the NOAA weather broadcast @162.50 mhz.
