I was watching a video of Britain's got talent
and noticed a glass jar of 'American style' hot dogs.
Huh? (I thought out loud but just to myself).
I've never seen hot dogs sold in a glass jar.
Pickled hard cooked eggs yes, but not hot dogs.
On this side of the pond we see hot dogs
sold inside vacuum sealed plastic wrap.
In England they also sell hot dogs in cans,
glass jars and swimming in a brine solution.
This website compares two brands.
Although it does make sense to sell them in a brine,
because hot dogs are simply mild tasting sausages.
While hot dogs topped with a meat or a chili sauce is good,
I'm patiently waiting for a nice sunny warm day
to char up a few grill marks on one of America's
favorite baseball park food, the all beef hot dog.
On a buttered and toasted potato hot dog bun,
simply with sauerkraut and yellow mustard. Yum!
