What a nice day it turned out to be yesterday
and after a few days of clouds in my eyes
the sun felt really good,
today it's supposed to April rain on our parade again.
I ventured out to the local food market to get some fresh vittles.
As I was leaving the grocery store
I noticed an un occupied ambulance
parked next to my car
with it's stinky diesel engine running.
No I didn't go inside and play with the
lights and siren but I thought about it.
Well as I was putting the junk food that I bought into
the truck of my car, I observed two EMT dressed people
walk over to the vehicle and attempt to leave that parking space.
Well they couldn't make the turn and had to back up some.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
Straight at me as I was loading my trunk with my foodie stuff.
Hello! DO YOU SEE ME HERE!
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
finally the beeping stops just a foot away from me,
and the EMT folks noisily drove away.
Leaving me thinking of this news paper headline,
"Rocky run over by ambulance!"
I guess this was one of those times you had to be there
to get what I had felt or the feeling of the moment.
But me being squashed between my car and and ambulance
would have been fodder for news of the weird for sure.
The radio in my car is still alien to me as is opening up
the plastic square cases that these evil cd's come in,
after fighting with this evil case for a minute or two
I got it open, put the cd in the radio
and was listening to Leon Russell's "This Masquerade".
Are we really happy with this lonely game we play,
Looking for the right words to say?
Searching but not finding understanding anyway,
We're lost in this masquerade.
Both afraid to say we're just too far away
From being close together from the start.
We try to talk it over, but the words got in the way
We're lost inside this lonely game we play.
Thoughts of leaving disappear each time I see your eyes,
And no matter how hard I try
To understand the reason why we carry on this way
We're lost in this masquerade.
We try to talk it over, but the words got in the way
We're lost inside this lonely game we play.
We're lost in a masquerade.
And we're lost in a masquerade.
