I to drank the kool-aid,then reality set in. I can just imagine each and every one of our founding fathers rolling around in their graves. All there honest blood spilled hard work back then and look at this country now.
Some people don't stand for the Pledge of Allegiance or The Star Spangled Banner. What has happened to the gratitude we used to show to our elders? I guess this is what happens when all the kids in school are not allowed to fail, no score sporting games because the kids might feel vad if they loose. They get trophies just for making an appearance, are not expected to respect their elders or even their teachers or parents grow up. They expect to be rewarded for nothing for rewards to be handed out and if anyone is getting one they they deserve one too!
Is it to much to ask of the young to be patriotic, and use their brains.
Ask themselves why they should stand for the Pledge of Allegiance or the Star Spangled Banner and not drive a hybrid or become a freakin green vegetarian. The founding fathers of America are rolling in their graves because of the direction this country has taken. The founders not only stood up and saluted our flag with the Pledge of Allegiance they fought with blood for the freedom to do so. They threw imported Earl Grey tea into the harbor. They put quill to paper and convinced their fellow men not with insult quips or propaganda, but with truth, wisdom, reason and facts.
What has happened to the respectful act of removing ones hat upon entering a building, or holding doors for ladies and the elderly? You might think everyone still does those things but it isn't true. Are we now living in a "Me first" society.
