BEST CLAM CHOWDER WINNER !

This Racheal Ray is everywhere nowadays. Her face is on every other magazine ad.
On the food tv network cooking thirty minute meals.
She has a daytime tv show I think ABC. She has her own magazine and cook books.
I think she endorses products from steak knives, flea powder to bird seeds.
Well anyway... Enough about Racheal Ray...

Having some farm raised cooked fresh mussels left over I decided to make a chowder.
Real easy to make and real good on a cold and wet almost end of winter day.
One thing did go wrong though, you see I have two identical plastic containers
next to the stove, one is ground black pepper and the other is ground garlic powder.
My brother did some cooking the other day and reversed there positions.
You guessed it, I found myself pouring what I thought was pepper and it was garlic.
So back to the chowder...Garlic clam chowder that is...

Put two slices of bacon in a dry pan, big enough to hold the finished soup,
cook to render out the fat, remove bacon. Put some water in pan,
add chopped celery, carrots, potatoes and onion.
Cook until potatoes are just fork tender.
Add clams, mussels, some sliced mushrooms, a cup of frozen corn.
Mix two tablespoons flour to one cup cold milk and add to pan.
Add two tablespoons red wine vinegar and black pepper to taste.
Serve inside Racheal Ray endorsed fresh bread bowls.
