I like popcorn, a nice big bowl of freshly popped corn swimming in melted butter. Four score and seven years ago as a kid, it used to be a weekly event for me to
walk on over to my neighbor friends house, watch a scary movie on the TV while eating a big buttery bowl of popcorn. It didn't matter what we watched and most of the time my friends father would fall asleep as my friend rubbed her mothers feet. His mom's name was Mary and she is the one that I learned to make real Polish style Perogies. With home made sauerkraut, cottage cheese and potato. But I still liked my Aunt Lillian's blueberry perogies best of all. So now back to the popcorn theme of this entry. Back in those days we had to pop our corn in a bath of corn oil shaking the pan until the sound of the popping stopped. Then drizzled butter and salt all over it.
It was great. Then came along air popped with a bunch of hot air machines to do the popping. Today we have microwave popcorn which is good but at the same time boring.
I've taken to pooping in the microwave the stuff, opening the bag, adding fresh creamery butter or olive oil, and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Sometimes garlic powder but mostly not. That's real Parmesan cheese popcorn heaven!
