Grampa wanted some nice home made cream puffs. I figured how hard could they be?
I attempted to bake some and ended up with dog treats. I never pretend to know much about baking stuff. I can bake bread and make a decent apple pie but I get flour all over the kitchen in the process. When it comes to the french chef stuff I'm all thumbs. Cooking beef, chicken, or ribs is one thing but when it comes to baking I'm a total klutz. Some times I do get lucky but most of the time I turn out total disasters. Why? Because when it comes to cooking I don't measure much. A little of this and a little of that and you have a mighty tasty meatloaf.
These cream puffs didn't rise one bit and I think I know why. I added the eggs to the flour, butter and water mixture before it cooled off thereby cooking the eggs in the pan and not in the oven. So I'll try again tomorrow, right now it's football on Fox time. This should be an interesting game because their playing in the middle of a snow storm. There should be enough dropped passes and injuries to make me happy.
