CAN RED TAIL HAWKS SEE THROUGH FOG ?

Washing my hands at the kitchen sink and looking out the window I spotted a Red Tail Hawk through the thick grey fog that had moved in and around the farm.
The hawk had perched on top of the Purple Martin house that stands in the middle of the field. I've seen it there before when there was no fog in the air. The first time I saw it I couldn't tell if it was a Hawk or an Owl. Using my telescope to get a real good view proved futile for the telescope was made to gaze at the srars. I couldn't hold it steady enough to get a good sighting. Using the camera with a telescoptic lens just didn't give me a good view either. This bird wasn't moving but for a blink of an eye. Gazing straight down to the snowy ground. It was there for about ten minutes looking very large atop the bird house. Then with a quick jump it spread its wings to swoop from above, at that time I knew it was a Hawk. Using its strong talons it scooped up what I assume was a mouse. Flapping its wings it flew to the top of a nearby maple tree at the edge of the field. Where it had its lunch.
So I guess Red Tail Hawks can see through thick fog good enough.
