Receiving a very official looking letter from the State department of motor vehicles informing me that it was time to get my car tested for emissions.
And thinking it time for an oil change anyway, I took it to the auto fix it shop.
Paid the $20 fee(cash only)which in my opinion is a total wrong thing for them to do.
After checking in I sat down on a sticky chair,in a very crowded and cramped waiting room, reached over and took a magazine to read while waiting.I couldn't help but notice the poor woman getting her car tested before me, went to the desk where the technician proclaimed that her car passed but the gas cap failed. She would have to go to a auto parts store, buy a new cap and return to get her car re-tested.
I wonder if she has to pay another $20(cash only)? Anyway, my car passed and it's a good thing because if it didn't I would have traded it in before doing any mechanical stuff to it just to pass the bogus test.
So I paid the $ for the oil change and went to my car,
finding the drivers window open, Thanks a lot oil change guy.(it was raining out).
Sat down and noticed the seat pushed way back so that my feet didn't reach the gas or brake pedals. And the car reeked of the sweet smell of automobile oil and the pungent aroma of body odor. Thanks a lot oil change guy.Now I knew why he left the window open. It was really bad,I couldn't breath. I headed straight to the nearest car wash and asked the car clean guy if he could get the stench out? He assured me he could. So I got the car detailed and cleaned inside and out.$100 later and smelling like roses I took the car home. Next day I wanted to go to the store, got in the car and the stench magically re appeared. I said to myself
"The car clean guy ripped me off!".
So I went back to the car clean place and made the manager come out and sit in my car.He protested loudly while waving his hands in front of his face, wanting me to let him out. After a few minutes he agreed to give me my money back. So now I'm thinking of trading my car in after all. Thanks a lot oil change guy!.
