SAY NO TO AUTO INDUSTRY BAIL OUT !

I own a Honda and have not purchased an American made car since 1978 for lack of quality.

Stop the presses! The dollar bill printing presses that is.
First it was the banking industry, then the housing industry and now the auto industry. Auto makers are seeking dollars from the federal government to help them get out of a financial mess they have suddenly found themselves into.
Granted the auto industry is again in dire straits, having forgotten about previous times in the same boat. We did bail out Chrysler with a federally backed loan and Chrysler did pay it back. The excuse back then was that we would loose to many jobs and it would hurt our economy. Why should the auto industry be bailed out this time? They should have seen this coming a mile away. They should have been re tooling their auto plants to make fuel efficient "green" cars thirty years ago.

What's worse is that these government low interest loans are for ALL auto manufacturers, even foreign owned. Has our government gone totally nutso?
Some auto manufacturers outside the United States have sold off divisions to stay solvent. Tata Motors purchased Rolls Royce Motor Cars. Companies outside the United States manufacture vehicles that obviously are good enough, to sell in quantities large enough to let the company stay solvent. That's business the way it ought to be.

We are now living in a global community with global companies, and if the companies in the United States can't compete, let them dissolve into the cesspool of bankruptcy. Why should we suddenly turn from a capitalistic to socialistic society? I see governmental financial insanity afoot.
