I found the culprit. It's Site Meter statistic tracking on the Internet.
When you open a website that uses Site Meter, a window pops up with the message
"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site"then the sites URL and "Operation Aborted" Very annoying, and it wasn't happening at all the websites I went to.
But it was happening on all three of my PCs.IT'S NOT YOUR PC! Don't bother trying to re-install IE that's not the problem.IT ONLY HAPPENS ON WEB SITES THAT USE SITE METER FOR TRAFFIC TRACKING.I use Site Meter on all my sites. When I removed the code from my pages, the problem is solved.Strange though, later in the day I found that could open my pages that still had the Site Meter code on them with out this occurring. The source could be an internal Site Meter thing.I bet a lot of people are removing Site Meter from there web pages today.A reader commented that you don't have to remove site meter from your web pages, just move it. The problem seems to have self corrected itself for now.
You don't have to remove it: moving it elsewhere is enough. See seven other recipes (click!) to fix the problem.
ReplyDeleteI haven't done anything and all pages load just fine now.
