Well what do you know,today we found a baby deer sleeping in the tall grass in the field in the back.Grampa was using the tractor to cut a few paths in the grass and almost ran it over.He said he didn't see it until it moved and then he stayed away from that area.We've seen a female deer slowly walking around and eating the fresh green grass more than few times this year.Apparently she was looking for a suitible place to hide her foal.Well she liked our grass,left her baby right there.
I wonder if she has been sleeping there at night?We put a salt lick to attract them but they just don't seem to have found it as yet.Usually there are fifty or more wild turkeys strutting around,this year there hasn't been that many around.
