Apple's Safari browser is fast and includes a pop up blocker, simple interface, integrated Google toolbar, easy bookmark management; features tabbed browsing and auto fill. But it lacks advanced security or customization settings,
no way to customize default toolbar search engine.
If you're only after speed, try Safari but keep your other browser, too.
Try Camino if you crave advanced settings.
Camino is fast and responsive, good cookie handling features, and has the best implementation of tabbed browsing. It can block pop ups, autofills usernames and passwords. It has no autofill of address forms is still in beta and not much documentation. Although technically a prerelease Camino is a compelling alternative to Safari, and it's faster and more feature filled than Internet Exployer.
Firefox's tabbed browsing, RSS support, security features, and overall cool factor make it more attractive than Internet Explorer. If only for the speed, lightness of being, and security alone. IE 7 was Microsoft's one chance to leapfrog ahead of the competition, but the company has only barely caught up to the other browsers.
Opera's extras push it to the top of the class. Integrated theme support previews themes from within the interface, and the new version sports a default redo that's an attractive balance between "dark" and "light" themes. Opera's desktop widgets can appear anywhere while Opera is running. The Wand utility combines autofill with saved passwords, and it's hard to ignore the addition of torrent support and real-time fraud protection. The latest version includes reasonable anti-malware protection courtesy Haute Secure.
Avant Browser allows users to browse multiple Web sites simultaneously and to block all unwanted pop up pages and Flash ads automatically. The integrated cleaner helps users clear all traces and maintain privacy. The built in Yahoo and Google search engines enable users to search for Web pages, images, groups, directories, lyrics, software, and news on the Internet.
Recapping:
For more features and greater security, switch to Mozilla Firefox.
If you're only after speed, try Safari but keep your other browser, too.
Try Camino if you crave advanced settings. Opera is really slow,
I'm going with Firefox for now.
