My t.v. remote just stopped working, for what reason I have no idea. I know what you must be thinking "To lazy to get up and push a button". No not really, the problem now is the buttons on the front of the set aren't marked. Why did the remote have to die?Batteries check out o.k., I didn't drop the remote in the toilet or even just piss on it. Although that's what I feel like doing right about now. So I push the button on the front of the t.v. to change the channel, which would be o.k. except I don't know which button to push. Pushing one, A big black screen comes up "select a menu". What menu? I think, all I want to do is change the channel. High Def what? I find the change channel button and push it once. I want channel 4, the local news channel here in Hootersville. Push it again and then I get an ad for monkey putty, that if I call right now he will double my order for just three EZ payments! Pushing once more and "Praise the lord,let us prey!" I'm praying that I can get back to the news channel before the weather guy is done about now. Next button wants me to enter the secret code for this brand of television. I gave up and pushed the OFF button. Then the t.v. went into this hyper surround sound mode. With hands on my ears I reached down and un plugged the thing from the wall. It went ump ump ump putt putt poof, and the screen went blank. You would think that would be enough to silence it but no,all of a sudden I heard a growling sort of sound and the screen came back on with a message that said "transmission temporarily lost, please stand by".I kind of miss the days of three channels and a public channel where the Reverend Gene Scott sat in an empty chair for hours at a broadcast.
